If you're passionate about sports, enjoy telling stories, and want to captivate the nation and the world, the Sport Media Specialisation will merge your love of sports with skills in media and communications to achieve these aspirations.
This 3-year Sports Media program of study engages you in a mix of research and authentic opportunities to investigate, produce, and present narratives in mainstream sport, niche sport (e.g. recreation, and fitness), and sport subcultures. Also, opportunities for advocacy and championing diversity are part of your studies given the capacity of sport to a) benefit causes, and b) tackle societal issues. Experiences in data analysis, strategy, design, digital literacy, and soft skills development in visual (e.g., television), audio (e.g., radio), online (e.g., social, broadcast and print) formats, prepare you for a pivotal role in your community. A 200-hour internship experience in a sport media field offers you meaningful, practical work related to this field of study and your career interest. To assist your interest, internships are available in all levels of sport (i.e., at the local, region, state/territory, national, or international).
This study experience will relevantly prepare you for your sports media future.
