Seeing Stories Exhibition

National Centre for Australian Children's Literature Inc (NCACL) presents the Seeing Stories exhibition showing from 27 April to 26 August 2016 at the Exhibition Space, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Hub.

Seeing Stories exhibits 48-framed artworks from favourite books by ten Australian children's book illustrators. These are part of a larger collection of 135-framed artworks collected by John Barrow, a Melbourne educator. Upon his death, he left this collection to Ann James AM. She in turn donated the collection to NCACL in 2016. Ten artists feature in Seeing Stories including Terry Denton, Peter Gouldthorpe, Bob Graham, Leigh Hobbs, Elizabeth Honey, Ann James, Alison Lester, Andrew McLean, Patricia Mullins and Julie Vivas. These artworks appeared in children's books published between the 1980s and mid 2000s. Many of these books continue to be enjoyed today.
