Arts and Health theme focuses on the ways in which creative practice can contribute to enhancing wellbeing and to recovery from exposure to traumatic experience. Researchers employ a health humanities approach to engage with individuals, communities and health professionals.
About us
The Centre for Creative and Cultural Research (CCCR) generates scholarship, art, events and products at the meeting place between culture and creativity. We are architects, builders, designers, heritage practitioners, Indigenous and global studies scholars, novelists, play-space makers and poets. We work on the cusp of tradition and originality.
Our researchers conduct imaginative and practical experiments that contribute to wellbeing, sustainability and resilience for diverse communities and their valued cultures, heritage, urban places and environments.
Creative Sustainable Communities
Focuses on creative responses to the diverse challenges facing individuals, communities and the environment. Researchers engage with these challenges through creative practice that generates sustainable responses. Projects focus on play and creativity; interventions for sustainable futures and Indigenous narrative and inclusion.
First Nations Collaborative Research Web
The First Nations Collaborative Research Web provides a platform for creatives and researchers to collaborate and centre Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in the academy.
Future Heritage
Future heritage theme recognises heritage as a rapidly evolving field of contemporary cultural practices. It has a focus on research that maps and describes changing forms of practice and participation, and on practical collaborations with cultural institutions and communities that conserve and enliven tangible and intangible heritage, build new forms of heritage and create knowledge.
